REGENCY MAHOGANY TIMEPIECE LIBRARY CLOCK BY HAMPSON & THELWELL OF MANCHESTER

DESCRIPTION

A very good quality Regency mahogany library mantel clock with brass string inlay and decorative brass inlay to the front of the case, finished with fluted ebony moulding. The clock has floral design brass handles to the sides, with rope twist ring detail, and it stands on brass ball feet.

The white painted dish dial has Roman numerals and the makers name -

The clock has an eight day duration timepiece, single fusee movement with pendulum holdfast.  

The movement has been cleaned and serviced and comes with a 12 month guarantee.

Hampson & Thelwell went in to partnership in 1810, they had address at 15 Exchange Street, and
2 St Ann's Square in Manchester. Richard Hampson was born in 1737 and died in 1828. Richard Thelwell was born in 1784, and died in 1841.
