FRENCH MID 19TH CENTURY GILT BRONZE & MARBLE MANTEL CLOCK BY JAPY FRERES

DESCRIPTION

​A superb quality French mid 19th century bronze gilt mantel clock with beautifully cast Greek mythological male figure of Paris, The Shepherd, accompanied by a female goddess.

The clock has a white marble body and plinth, and it is adorned with floral garland, laurel leaf and egg and dart moulding. The clock has a beaded bezel and a white enamel dial with Roman numerals.

The movement is an eight day duration, which strikes the hours and half hours on a bell with outside count wheel.

The clock movement backplate is stamped with the makers name -

The clock movement has been cleaned and serviced and comes with a 12 month guarantee.
