PAIR OF GEORGIAN OAK ANTIQUE CANDLE STANDS

DESCRIPTION

An interesting pair of solid oak antique candle or flower stands with central fluted and reeded baluster shaped columns originally from a Charles I bedpost dating at 1620. The octagonal base and top, and hairy paw carved feet were made around 1780 when the bedposts were adapted and used as central columns to create a pair of useful and functional pieces of decorative furniture.

 

The tops and bases have boxwood and ebony inlay with feather inlay to the carved moulded edge. There are four paw feet to each base with carved decoration throughout, and each retain a nice patina which has been cleaned and waxed.

We accept returns within 14 days providing the customer pays for the return and the item is in the same condition we sold it in and it is packaged well.
