PAIR OF EDWARDIAN BRONZE GILT ANTIQUE MAZARIN WALL LIGHTS BY G.E.C
DESCRIPTION
An extremely good quality pair of English bronze gilt antique Mazarin wall light sconces in the French style with two curved arms featuring the head of the deity Ammon which are embellished with leaf design terminating to reeded and foliate bobeche trays finished with decorative cups. The main body of the wall lights are adorned with female term figures and fluted and reeded detail which finishes with finial underneath.
When lit the beautifully cast wall lights glisten highlighting the superb quality. The bronze gilt has been cleaned and lacquered and the lights have been rewired and are in full working order.
The wall lights are stamped with the makers name G.E.C
G.E.C (General Electric Company) was established in London in the 1880s by Gustav Binswanger. By the 1890s the company had expanded opening new factories manufacturing lighting and exporting around the world.
