FRENCH 19TH CENTURY BRASS FOUR GLASS ANTIQUE MANTEL CLOCK BY SAMUEL MARTI

DESCRIPTION

A late 19th century French antique mantel clock with very good quality brass case, and four bevelled glass panels, showcasing the clocks movement and compensating pendulum. The case has a decorative urn to the top with beaded detail and pineapple finial, laurel leaf wreath to the centre of the plinth, and it stands on hoofed feet with leaf ornamentation.

 

The clock has a white enamel dial with Roman numerals to the chapter ring and visual escapement to the centre. The movement is an eight day duration, which strikes the hours and half hours on a bell.

 

The back plate is stamped with the makers name -

The brass has been cleaned and lacquered to prevent tarnishing, and the clock movement has been cleaned and serviced and comes with a 12 month guarantee.​​
