FRENCH LOUIS XIV STYLE BRONZE GILT ANTIQUE MANTEL CLOCK
DESCRIPTION
An extremely good quality French Louis XIV style bronze gilt antique mantel clock from the Victorian period with musical instruments to one side and Roman soldiers helmet and shield to the other. The case has fluted detail with pierced frets to the sides and pierced inset entwined floral leaf mounts to the white carrara marble base standing on toupie shaped feet surmounted by two doves and flaming torch.
The clock has a white enamel dial with Arabic numerals and a French eight day duration movement which strikes the hours and half hours on a bell.
